My first time at Liberty State Park was last weekend for Kai and Kira’s engagement session and it left me wanting more. The weather was perfection. The skyline was definitely something that we don’t have back home in Orlando, Fl. The FALL COLORS!!!! I took it all in. The cherry on top was spending the day, in this beautiful place with an amazing couple, Kai + Kira.
When we first spoke with Kai and Kira of course the first thing that we asked them is how did you guys meet? How did we get to this point, wedding planning? We have to say it was the cutest and most unique story we have ever heard! It’s a funny story. Kira and Kai met at their mothers’ high school reunion. First of all we thought they were the sweetest to accompany their mothers to their reunion. Their mother’s high school has a reunion in South Florida every year for all classes. Kira first met Kai’s mom, Joan, who had mutual friends with her mom, Karen. When Joan heard that Kira had just graduated from the University of Florida, she got excited. She saw a beautiful, smart young lady and immediately pulled her over to a handsome young man. Her son, Kai. He had also graduated from UF a few years earlier.
Kira was happy that their paths crossed that night. After doing long distance for a while, a job opportunity brought them together to the same city, New Jersey. This past April, under the disguise of his 29th birthday celebration, Kai chartered a boat. It took them and 5 friends around lower Manhattan. They reached the Brooklyn Bridge. With his heart racing, he called for a toast for “his birthday”. As he was toasting, he started to talk more about Kira and their journey. After a few sentences in Kira realized what was happening. The handsome man she met at her moms reunion, and fell in love with was giving more than a birthday toast to himself. He got down on one knee and proposed. Obviously, she said yes!
Kai + Kira, we are so happy our paths crossed. We think you guys are so perfect for each other and we cannot wait to meet Joan in person to hug her and tell her she did good! We cannot wait for your wedding next year at The Royal Crest Room !
