Back in October we met Jordan at her best friends wedding . She was one of the bridesmaids that brought the sass on that day! By the end of the night she had pulled us aside and told us that she would be contacting us because she was working on getting that ring! She was not lying . Three weeks later she emailed us and told us she was getting married. Now of course she didn’t really know she was getting engaged yet. She said it as a joke, but little did she know a few months later we would be shooting her engagement at Lake Louisa State Park.
It was a beautiful day in South Florida when Jordan and Derek went fishing. She had begged him to catch her a sailfish for 4 years and it just never worked out. This time they actually had a better shot than any other time. They were out for about 3 hours with no bites and were about to head in. Jordan finally got a bite and a huge sailfish was jumping out of the water. She fought the fish for about 40 minutes and finally brought him to the boat and released him. It was thrilling and extremely exciting!
As they approached the Hillsboro inlet theres a beautiful lighthouse at the which was perfect because Jordan LOVES lighthouses! The captain told them they needed to hang the sailfish flag to show everyone that they had finally caught one. As Jordan started to put the flag on the line the next thing she knows Derek is down on one knee proposing!! She already had an adrenaline rush from catching the fish and couldn’t believe what was happening. He always told her if she ever caught a big fish in front of him he would propose ha! Who knew it would actually happen!
