Every now and then we have the treat of throwing on some leggings, sneakers, grab our camera and go play with a baby. We get to make silly faces and make baby talk and it’s welcomed. Give me more Wednesdays like this please.
This week little nugget Gordy got to celebrate his first birthday and we got to capture his precious perfect little face…diving right into his cake! Thats exactly my idea of celebrating!!! Its his first birthday and also his last birthday as an only child so its a big one! But pretty soon he will be a big brother! He’ll have a little sister to pick on and before you know it, teaming up with his daddy to protect from all her crushes.
Gordy, you can’t read this right now but someday you hopefully will and I want to share some things from you as an older sibling. Don’t grow up too fast. We tend to do that once a sibling comes along. Be her best friend. There may come a time when she won’t want to tell mom or dad something and you will be her next stop for advice and guidance. Not to mention, ya’ll aren’t too far apart so she’ll probably have some pretty friends she will put a good word in for you if you’re nice.
Most of all never forget that you are special and will always be the one that made Mike and Maura daddy and mommy for the very first time. You will be their first everything and nobody can take that from you, so enjoy being a big brother because it is a blessing and relationship like no other! Its a honor and God chose you to be this little girls partner in crime! Happy Birthday! We love you very much and we cannot wait to capture the memories between you and your sister.
