When scrolling through the gram or Tik Tok, our favorite posts are always where you see a woman caught completely off guard and crying tears of joy and her prince charming down on one knee with the caption that she said yes. We knew it was only a matter of time before we would have the honor of capturing a proposal ourselves. To be completely transparent, it has always been the one thing that made us pretty nervous. It is such an epic moment in lives that pivot in such a significant way their future, and not screwing up the surprise has always been a belly knot twister for us! But when Ignacio reached out to us and asked us to capture the moment he proposes to the love of his life, it felt more like exciting butterflies untying the knots in my belly.
After a month of secretly planning like ninjas through calls and text messages, we had a plan downpacked. Now, it was just time to execute. Counting down the days until the proposal was brutal but not as brutal as when the day arrived, and my heart was well near a heart attack rate counting down the minutes for their arrival to the location. Trying to blend in with everyone else, knowing that Lorena, the soon fiancé, knew how we looked, was epic. Landon crouched down taking pictures of flowers hiding behind his hat and camera and me, oh lord, me shooting birds and deers. I was a hot mess of nerves. Thankfully, hobby nature photographers were everywhere that day, so blending in wasn’t as complicated as I thought.
The Big Day
We were finally all in position! Ignacio and Lorena in the perfect little spot ready for their picnic. Landon and I are on alert for the big moment. Ignacio pulls out his guitar, and starts playing, very well I might add, an original. Lorena sat there, serenaded with her Harry Potter book, until Ignacio asked her to grab a pic of him from his guitar case, only to find a ring. The moment was here! Ignacio was singing from the top of his lungs, and Lorena was overwhelmed with emotions. She could only nod yes because she was happy crying so hard. She said yes !!!
