One of our favorite things to do with our new couples is meeting them, getting to know them and learning all about their story. We normally meet at our office and get cozy around a table with some snacks and good conversation. About half the time, though, it just isn’t possible because a lot of our couples don’t live in Florida! So many of our couples live outside the state and are planning a destination wedding here, which means we have to get a little creative! In that case, we have a Facetime date, and even though we don’t get to cozy up around a table together, it can actually be really fun. Couch to couch, things get extra comfortable extra fast. Case in point, Brutus and Minnie (our pups) tends to crash our video meetings, and THAT is something you don’t get at our office meetings.
Mike and Adele live in New Orleans, and being the amazing doctors that they are, it wasn’t long before we were able to connect with them during their lunch break (thanks to technology) getting to know these two cuties. We chatted about how they met at work, and hit it off right away. Adele and Mike got engaged at the restaurant where they had their first date and are planning a spring wedding here, so we were all crossing our fingers that we’d be able to find a time to sneak their engagement session in! Luckily, they were able to come to Florida a few days before their wedding, so even though we got together for their engagement session three days before their wedding, they were such good sports about making time fo hang out with us!
We’re going to Fernandina Beach, Fl.
Mike’s parents live in Fernandina Beach, Fl. so up we drove to meet them for their engagement session. We hit the jackpot when the original location of the shoot turned out to be closed and we instead relocated to the private yacht club in Mike’s parent neighborhood. This location couldn’t have been more perfect for our session. The weather was perfect, the location was magical and Mike and Adele were so joyful we just didn’t want the session to end! But Adele’s fabulous jumpsuit and the way these two love each other, who is really paying attention to the background anyway?
Mike and Adele, thanks so much for being up for anything. For chasing the golden light with us, and bringing so much kindness and warmth with you. We had so much fun with you both. It’s so obvious you two are best friends and the entire ride home we were just so excited that we would get to see you guys again in three days!
