Planning a wedding is exciting. You have your wedding checklist and you are on a mission to plan the wedding of your dreams. The venue, photographer, color scheme etc is all picked and as you are approaching your wedding you are thinking of what other elements you can add to set the tone on your big day! So lets talk about how you can set the tone with your wedding details! Here are some ways to set the tone from beginning to end!
Set the tone with your Wedding Details
The first thing that your guest see related to your wedding is the wedding invitation. SET THE TONE!!!! Wether you are having a destination wedding and create invites to look like plane tickets or a local romantic garden wedding and get a beautiful invitation suite custom made, it all sets the tone!

Don’t forget the details for how you will deliver your vows and rings. Just little elements that are simple and so gorgeous. Instead of reading your vows off of college rule paper on your ceremony. You can get a vow book. I have to admit, I’m a bit obsessed with these. Plus you can save them forever! When you show your children in the future it will make as big of an impact as showing them your wedding album!
Welcome your guest with beautiful signage! This sign can be a simple welcome, or some of our couples use this sign to welcome or let guest know where to sit. This is a beautiful way to let your guest know your ceremony is unplugged, if you choose to have an unplugged ceremony.

Let your guest get to know you better by setting a signature drink that reflects you, your new husband, or your love story. Wether you do a his and hers drink or offer one signature drink that maybe you had on your first date, or first Christmas. This can be a really fun detail to pick with the groom!

Continue to set the tone with your seating chart! Make it easy for them to find their seats for the reception and make it look oh so pretty while you do it!!!! This bride in particular killed 3 birds with one stone. She stayed consistent with her destination wedding theme, provided a easy way for guest to find their seats and gave them a favor! I love it when a wedding detail serves multiple purposes!!!
Lastly but not least add little details to your reception that are a reflection of you and your love story! Take Jennifer and Kersley’s wedding for example, they filled their reception with one consistent detail that at the end of the wedding, made it clear that they are obsessed with donuts. It makes perfect sense, especially since Kerlsey proposed to her at a donut shop because of Jennifer’s love for donuts. Or take Nick and Rachel for example! They made their menu reflect their story. Two different cultures coming together in marriage!
Even a simple polaroid photo booth to set the tone for a wedding that focuses on laid back candid fun, can be set up so beautifully and you get a guestbook out of it too 😉
So don’t forget the details! We live for details and so do your guest! It helps them get to know your story even better when the details are meaningful. I love hearing the conversations from the couples loved ones as they see details that remind them of a particular moment in the couples love story. Plus we love love love photographing them ;-).
