Captiva Florida | South Seas Island Wedding

Have we got some pretty for you today. It isn’t just because of the the great medical cases and hot doctors that I’ve become obsessed with Grey’s Anatomy, but mainly the intense romantic scenes on the elevator. So obviously when Colin and Elizabeth told us that they met on an elevator at work we were intrigued and had to hear more!

They both worked for a consulting firm at the time and had never crossed paths because Colin traveled all the time. One day they ended up in the elevator at the same time and he introduced himself. Real smooth. Very much a gentlemen and McDreamy for sure! As soon as the elevator doors opened they said bye and Elizabeth went straight to her desk to look him up because she just had to know more about him. Who is this dreamy Colin.

A few weeks later, Colin RSVPd to an internal dinner event Elizabeth was in charge of organizing. She had not planned on attending, but when she saw Colin had RSVPd she made all of her friends RSVP to go, too. They ended up sitting near each other, and talked the entire time, and just like that they were glued at the hip!

This past weekend CocoLuna Events perfectly executed their tropical meets coastal wedding design for Colin and Elizabeth’s big day at South Seas Island Resort in Captiva Fl. They perfectly balanced natural elements that you’d find in Florida like palm leaves, protea, moss, air-plants with a touch of coastal elements like, driftwood, sea blue, sea shells, etc.

Although they live in California, when it came time to decide on their wedding destination they both agreed it had to be Captiva Fl. Growing up, Elizabeth vacationed in Captiva Fl with her family and has some of her best memories there. So choosing Captiva Fl. as the destination for her and Colin to become husband and wife was extremely easy! It would be another amazing memory, milestone, to add to her list of amazing experiences in her favorite place, Captiva, Fl. Now their favorite place.

The most memorable moment of their beautiful day was the reading of their vows. Up until that moment, Colin and Elizabeth had been able to keep it together. But as Elizabeth shared with Colin in front of all the people they loved, how much she loved him. WHY she loved him. Spoke her promises to him. It was inevitable. There stood in front of him, this sweet beautiful, strong, funny, charismatic, humble woman that he loved very much. A woman that he throughout the day kept saying was out of his league. And there she stood, utterly, head over heals in love with him. And as modest as she is. It was her bravest moment of the day because for that very moment, she didn’t even care that all eyes were on them. All she cared about was telling this man that she equally felt was too good to be true, how much she loves him and how she will spend the rest of her life loving him.

Colin and Elizabeth, its still unbelievable to us that even though your wedding day was the first time we had stood in the same space, it felt as if we had known you forever. You guys are so generous and humble and so perfect for each other! We were in awe and drawn to you both. Not just because you both are ridiculously beautiful on the outside, but because you guys are equally as beautiful on the inside. You’re funny and kind and the way you guys look at each other makes the world stand still! We love you both very much and wish we could go back and redo the day just so that we can spend more time with you guys and your family!
