After spending the day with Christopher and Paulette for their engagement we had started counting down to the minutes for their wedding. Not just because we knew that they were perfect together but because we knew that they were going to be surrounded by family members that had began long ago a legacy of love and unwavering commitment.

28 years ago, in this very same church, St. James Catholic Cathedral , Christopher’s parents stood in front of their loved ones, committed to each other in front of God and began their family. They led by example and showed Christopher what a God centered marriage looked like. They poured love and all their wisdom into him and now it was time for him to begin his family with his gorgeous bride, Paulette!

There in the first row, sat his parents hand in hand. Paulette’s parents hand in hand. Their grandparents hand in hand. And it was time. Time for the doors to open. Time for the next generation to continue the legacy their grandparents and parents began. Time for Paulette to walk down the aisle. When those doors opened. When everyone got a glimpse of Paulette, the church as absolutely silent.

Her father held her arm and walked her down the aisle. She was an absolute vision with her dress and veil gliding behind her. There. With each step she got closer to the man she loves with all her might. She locked eyes with Christopher and he with her. No nerves. Just excitement. Excitement for what that moment meant. Meant to them, their families and their future children. Excitement for the foundation that was being set that day! Excitement to love and serve each other.

Witnessing and capturing their union was an honor. To be present in a place with so much history for their families. To be in the presence of three generations of God centered marriages. To witness their grandparents watch how their legacy has carried on for generations. It was truly humbling, inspiring and one that I hope I get to live one day with my children and my children’s children.

Christopher and Paulette, thank you so much for blessing us with the responsibility of capturing your first moments as husband and wife. For trusting us to capture your love story. Thank you for allowing us to capture the beginning of your legacy! We love you guys so much and are so excited for you guys to continue on to pass your children and grandchildren and great grandchildren the same legacy of love, commitment, and loyalty. That is the best inheritance you could ever leave behind. Here are some of our favorite moments from your first day of forever!
